We have been making tessellating patterns using foam shapes. Can you see how the same shape fits together without any spaces between them?
Room 3 Rocks!
We bounce through the door each morning ready to go! We love our school, teachers and everyone else who comes along to visit us. We try to keep fit with lots of sport, jump jam, cross country and swimming in the summer. Children publish new posts on the blog independently and so some spellings may not be correct. Come and have a look!

Pirate party
A fun filled week learning about pirates ended with the room 3 and the rest of the school dressing up as very convincing villains of the sea!

Mangamahu Cross Country
Another amazing day out! Today we travelled to Mangamahu School to take part in the cluster cross country. The children looked so smart in their new uniforms and ran with enthusiasm and pride. We had several winners with members of Room 3 doing very well. Lauren was 1st equal in the six year old girls' race, Seth won his race, Connor came second in his and Kyle came third. Everyone should be proud of themselves. Well done gang!
A Day out with the Printer!
On Tuesday 13th September the Year 0-3 children set out for another day of adventure. Parents kindly transported the gang to Feilding to catch up with John Brebner, a local print specialist.
John taught our enthusiastic children (and parents) how to make a printing plate, ink it and print with it. The second job was to clean the while polystyrene plates, add more detail and re-ink/print using a different colour over the original.
Amazing pieces of art work were created.
Picnic lunch at Mrs Reddish's house was well deserved.
Scarecrow stuffing extravaganza
On a blustery Monday afternoon, the children at Fordell gathered their scarecrow making things and got to work. Five huge scarecrows were made and everyone had a fabulous time. The scarecrows are now at Mitre 10 in Wanganui having been entered into the 'Make your own scarecrow' competition.
Great work folks!

Cracking Cross Country
Friday arrived with everyone excited by the prospect of taking part in the Fordell School Cross Country.
Everyone tried their hardest showing determination and enthusiasm.
Even Pre-School came along and shared in the fun. They ran like lightning!
Seth was first in the boys race with John second and Connor third. In the girl's event, Lauren was first, Georgia second and Rose third.
We had to say a sad farewell to our marvellous Maureen and wish her all the best in her new job.
